Dear Delegates, Faculty Advisors and Staff,

It is my distinct privilege to invite you to the 13th iteration of the John Abbott College Model United Nations Conference (JACMUN), taking place in person between April 1st - 2nd, 2023. I am delighted to be working alongside an incredibly dedicated and talented Secretariat to offer delegates an enriching experience filled with innovative debates, thought-provoking ideas, and meaningful interactions.

This year’s conference welcomes delegates of all experience and skill levels, and promises nothing short of an unforgettable weekend. As the first in person conference since 2018, our team looks forward to bringing several innovations to the table and sharing it with you all very soon. Whether participants are deepening their understanding of historical conflicts in Crisis Committees, furthering their diplomatic abilities in General Assemblies or simply exploring their interests in the many other committees, this edition of JACMUN will allow delegates to learn more about themselves as well as the world around them.

JACMUN 2023 Secretariat and staff are beyond excited to see you all in April. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the Secretariat members at any point before or during the conference.

Sincerely,

Sabrina Du
Secretary-General | JACMUN 2023

more about jacmun

JACMUN is a Model United Nations conference hosted by students of John Abbott College. The 2023 edition, held on the weekend of April 1st to 2nd, will mark JACMUN's thirteenth iteration, making it a staple of any Montreal MUNner's career. This is a great conference for beginners and experienced participants alike, to both learn the ropes of MUN and to explore the vast world of crises, specialized agencies and general assemblies. The JACMUN Secretariat wishes all attending delegates a wonderful time!

We would like to acknowledge that John Abbott College was built upon the unceded and traditional lands of the Kanien'kehá:ka and Algonquin nations. It is JACMUN's great honour to be able to host its conference on this territory. We recognize and deeply appreciate the historic and ongoing Indigenous connections and presence on these lands and waters. We commit to building a sincere relationship with Indigenous peoples based on respect, dignity, trust, and cooperation, in the process of advancing truth and reconciliation.
