THE SECRETARIAT

Sabrina Du - Secretary-General
My name is Sabrina (she/her) and I’m a second-year Honours Sciences student who is dedicated to her hobbies and academic career. MUN has always played a big role in my life, helping me build incredible friendships and sparking a passion for debate I never knew I had. In my spare time, you can find me reading, painting or listening to podcasts, often with tea nearby. As JACMUN 2023’s Secretary-General, I’m beyond thrilled to invite you to this year’s conference!

Sarah Wu - Chargée d'Affaires
My name is Sarah (she/her), I am a second-year Honours Science student and your Chargée d’affaires for JACMUN 2023! I was always interested in MUN ever since high school, so when I arrived at John Abbott College, JACMUN was definitely the first club I wished to join. This past year, I was able to learn so much not only from all the debates I have had the chance to partake in but especially from all the inspiring people I have met. Outside of JACMUN and school, you can find me at a dance studio, in front of my piano, or simply hanging around in all that nature has to offer!

Areeba Ahmed - USG Public Relations
My name is Areeba (she/her) and I’m a second-year Science student. My MUN journey started in high school as a mandatory project which is when I fell in love with public speaking and debating. Joining JACMUN challenged me to take a step out of my comfort zone and allowed me to meet incredibly talented people. Besides school, you’ll find me going on unnecessary shopping sprees (for blazers duh), fashion designing, and listening to Taylor Swift during my morning walks. As your 2022-2023 USG of Public Relations, I'm excited to make this experience memorable.

Tomas Torkomyan - USG Committees: General Assemblies & Specialized Agencies
My name is Tomas (he/him), a second-year Arts and Sciences student, and I will be your USG of General Assemblies and Specialized Agencies. I joined Model UN at John Abbott last year, and it has been an amazing and enriching experience since. Having participated in many conferences during the course of the previous year and contributed to John Abbott’s own conference in 2022, I have learned so much and I am excited for what the next year will bring. Outside of MUN, I love learning languages, travelling, and reading. I am eager to meet all of the new delegates and to contribute to another successful year at JACMUN!

Boyuan Li - USG Committees: Crises
My name is Casper (he/him) and I am the USG Crisis. I am a second-year Honours Science student. My Model UN journey started in high school, where I participated in its MUN club. I found the experience fascinating; as such, I am here. Crisis is my favorite part because of its crude intrigue — after all, who wouldn’t kill the Empress Dowager of China with twenty assassins? Aside from MUN, I am also a fan of WWII and contemporary history. Come talk with me anytime!

Noura Habbab - USG Finance
My name is Noura (she/her) and I am your USG for Finance this year! It’s my second year as an Honours Science student, and I only joined JACMUN last semester but have since been warmly welcomed to the club. It’s been a pleasure to participate in debate and discussion with other members of the club, and I can say with certainty that JACMUN is just the right environment for developing a sense of community and belonging at Abbott. Fun facts about me: I’m the school’s national anthem singer, I started a tech business with friends last year, and I love wearing suits (we do that a lot here). Hoping to meet you all soon!

Panagis Vitoratos - USG Logistics
My name is Panagis Vitoratos, but you can also call me Peter. My pronouns are he/him, and I am a second year student in the Social Science, Commerce program. It is my pleasure to be serving as USG logistics for JACMUN 2023. Since joining JACMUN, I have had amazing experiences at various conferences, improving my debating and public speaking skills. Outside of JACMUN, my hobbies include reading, playing and listening to music, and cooking. I look forward to meeting all new members!

Vanessa Nicolas - Internal Coordinator
My name is Vanessa (she/her), and I am the Internal Coordinator for JACMUN 2022 -2023. I'm a second year Liberal Arts student hoping to pursue a career in archeology. My MUN career officially began last year, but unofficially began during a war and nation-state simulation in grade 11. I learned a lot over the past year through the conferences I attended, and our own, which I staffed. I love comic books, Star Wars, photography, and I have recently picked up roller skating! I look forward to meeting you all, and if you have any questions, let me know!

Artimes Fallah - Head Delegate
My name is Artimes (she/her) and I am super excited to be the Head Delegate for JACMUN this year. I am currently a second year Liberal Arts student and strive to pursue law in the future. I was first introduced to Model UN in my high school and decided to continue it as it has truly pushed me to advance my public speaking skills and critical thinking. Outside of school I enjoy playing the flute and piccolo and being an active member of my orchestra. I hope that this year we can provide all the delegates with a rewarding MUN experience!
