JACMUN 2023 Equity and Safety

On behalf of the secretariat and staff of JACMUN 2024, we extend a warm welcome to all participants of our conference! Our primary goal is to ensure that everyone has a positive experience during JACMUN 2024. To achieve this, we have outlined our expectations for all individuals involved in the conference.

It is important to note that JACMUN has a zero tolerance policy for any form of bullying, discrimination, or sexual harassment. This policy applies not only in-person but also extends to online interactions on platforms such as Slack, Instagram, Snapchat, or any other social media platforms. Any inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour online will be treated with the same seriousness as an in-person incident.

Delegates are expected to show respect towards individuals, countries, and characters both within and outside of committee sessions. Encouragement of or involvement in crisis notes regarding the harming of any particular individuals is strictly prohibited.

If any sort of bullying, discrimination, or sexual harassment arise, or if there are recurring instances of disrespect, they will be brought to the attention of the secretariat for appropriate action. Faculty advisors or head delegates will be informed of any incidents that occur.

Discrimination against individuals based on age, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, health conditions, or impairments is not acceptable at JACMUN 2024. Delegates are encouraged to use their judgement and refrain from making any statements that could be deemed offensive.

If you experience bullying, discrimination, or sexual harassment, please contact the Equity Coordinator, Nour Zaher, through Slack (https://join.slack.com/t/newworkspace-hql7164/shared_invite/zt-2fyt8sgkx-zvrdsk8zOhi7upEpYVYbIA), or through our email rebeccadmglsmun@gmail.com, or anonymously complete the Equity Report Form (https://forms.gle/PybVquN8hfDg2HZQ7). These reports are accessible only to the Equity Coordinator, Nour Zaher. If you wish to discuss an issue with another JACMUN Secretariat member, please reach out to the Secretary General, Salem Sinishaw.

We appreciate your cooperation and adherence to these guidelines, and we wish you all the best for a successful and enjoyable conference experience at JACMUN 2024!
