On behalf of the secretariat and staff of JACMUN 2023, we welcome you to our conference! We want to make sure everyone has an amazing time, feels included, comfortable and accommodated, so below are our expectations of everyone involved in JACMUN 2023. Please note, if there are any accommodations JACMUN can provide, please let us know and we will do our best to make it happen (within reason). Please let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements.
JACMUN has a zero tolerance policy for any form of bullying, discrimination or sexual harassment. We would also like to remind delegates that these issues can take place online, and these will also be taken seriously. Whether it be on Slack, Instagram, Snapchat, or any other social media platforms, any inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour on a digital platform throughout the duration of the conference, including outside of designated conference time, is considered bullying, discrimination or sexual harassment and will be addressed the same way an in-person incident would be.
We also ask delegates to remain respectful of individuals, countries, and characters both in and out of committee. Encouragement of, or in the case of crisis committees crisis notes regarding the harming of any particular people is prohibited. If it is required, we will speak to delegates individually, issue a warning and remind them of our expectations. If issues of bullying, discrimination of sexual harassment occur, as well as if there is recurring issues of respect, they will be brought to the secretariat, who will decide how to proceed. Faculty advisors or head delegates will be informed if an incident occurs. It is possible that the delegate involved may be asked to leave committee, and future committee sessions.
Discrimination against the following will not be acceptable:
-
Age,
-
Gender identity,
-
Sexual orientation,
-
Religion,
-
Race,
-
Ethnicity
-
Nationality,
-
